Industrial Park Lausitz: skilled professionals in high demand for the region

  • 26 young women and men successfully complete their apprenticeship and studies
  • Securing skilled workers for the Industrial Park Lausitz and regional companies
  • The new September training intake focuses on recruiting chemical technicians

The successful completion of vocational training is the key to the professional future for 26 young women and men. Nine chemical technicians, six chemical laboratory assistants, three electronics technicians for industrial engineering, one electronics technician for automation technology, five industrial mechanics, one industrial management assistent and one dual student received their diplomas.

The 2022 training course marks a special milestone: they are the first to start their professional career in the Industrial Park Lausitz after three and a half years. 15 young professionals will be employed by companies based in the Industrial Park. The others start their careers at regional companies.

„As a site operating company, we train young people both for our own needs and increasingly for partner companies. In this way, we are contributing significantly to securing professionals in the entire region," says Anne Francken, deputy managing director of BASF InfraService & Solutions Lausitz GmbH. Not only BASF benefits from the high quality of the training, but also numerous partner companies in Brandenburg and Saxony, which can rely on well-trained specialists.

Local companies can count on the expertise of the Industrial Park Lausitz. The outstanding quality and reliable continuity of the vocational training was awarded by the Brandenburg government at the end of last year. In addition, BASF graduates have regularly been among the best in recent years.

Currently, 140 young people are completing an apprenticeship in the Industrial Park Lausitz. The new September training intake focuses on recruiting chemical technicians. They control and monitor modern production facilities, accompany the manufacture of chemical products and bear responsibility for quality, environmental and occupational safety. In addition, places are still available for chemical laboratory assistants and firefighters.
