Industrial Park Lausitz: 24 new Apprentices start their Careers

• Diverse training opportunities in industrial professions
• Industrial park focuses on developing skilled young talent
• Training portfolio to be expanded for 2027

With the start of the new training year on 1 September, a total of 24 young people will begin their professional careers at Industrial Park Lausitz. The 2026 intake includes two aspiring chemical process operators, one chemical laboratory technician and two industrial firefighters. The programme is complemented by ten participants in the “Start in Beruf” preparatory programme.

“We are consistently adapting our training opportunities to meet future demand for skilled workers. With a total of 24 training places, we are investing in the future of our site and the region,” says Mirko Gisazs, Head of Training. At the same time, the “Start in Beruf” programme is being further developed to prepare even more young people for vocational training at BASF.

As the site operating company of Industrial Park Lausitz, BASF InfraService & Solutions Lausitz GmbH is one of the region’s largest providers of vocational training. The practical training is geared towards the requirements of modern industrial companies and specifically prepares young talent for their future responsibilities. In doing so, the company makes an important contribution to securing the skilled workforce at Industrial Park Lausitz and beyond.

A total of 127 young people are currently undertaking vocational training at Industrial Park Lausitz. For the 2027 intake, the company is looking for motivated young people with an interest in technology, natural sciences or skilled trades who want to shape their future in a modern industrial environment. Next year, the training programmes for industrial mechanics and electronics technicians specialising in automation technology will be offered again.
